Exploring Southeast Asia Old Town
This tour takes you to explore the old towns of three different cities in Southeast Asia: Luang Prabang, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta. Each old town represents its own unique identity from the past. Luang Prabang embodies the royal heritage, Kuala Lumpur reflects its tin mining history, and Jakarta represents the historical spice trade port of Indonesia.

This classic walking tour offers you opportunities to learn and understand more about local culture and the importance of heritage sites that reflect Outstanding Universal Value (OUV). Luang Prabang was once known as the Royal Kingdom of Laos until the reign of King Sisavang Vong in 1945. The word "Luang Prabang" itself refers to the ‘Royal Buddha image’.
This heritage walk includes one of the most beautiful monasteries in Luang Prabang, Wat Xieng Thong. Wat Xieng Thong also became a significant treasure of the royal family because historically, the temple was the place where the Lao kings were crowned. Next, you will embark on a cruise upstream on the Mighty Mekong River.
It also gives you a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, you will stop at Ban Moung Keo where you can see and experience how the local people make the local rice wine. On return, we disembark the boat to visit traditional village, a village famous for its handmade textile and mulberry paper. Return to Luang Prabang by the later afternoon and overnight at the hotel.
On this morning tour, you will escape from the stress of modern life of the city and step into the tranquil world of Kuang Si Waterfall, it is time to go back to nature and have a great breathtaking of fresh air!
On the way, you will make some stop and visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Na Oun, Hmong village. After that, we continue the journey to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails.
Next, we’ll stop at the Asiatic Black Bear Sanctuary that is set up along the path to the Kuang Si waterfalls. The bears have been rescued from various farms within Laos where they have been abused. Return to Luang Prabang. Overnight at the hotel.
Pick up at your hotel. This early morning start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron – clad monks collect offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents, and this tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. At the same time, you will be experienced the richness and magnificence of Laos's cultural and traditional heritage.
After breakfast, your exploration today will be the morning fresh market, where you can see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, with a visit to the major temples which is very impressive Wat Mai, the former royal monastery and it was a home for Lao Buddhist Supreme monk.
At the same time, you will be enhanced learning experiences about the Buddhism how the Buddhist monks and Lao people believe and practice for thousands of years until today. and from there you will visit the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. Then, you will visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center and learn about different ethnic diversities, rural life styles and handicrafts in Laos. Check out and departure.

As you discover the heritage sites in Kuala Lumpur, how a tin mining settlement that grew into a thriving metropolis began, you will also hear stories of what brought Chinese and Indian immigrants to Kuala Lumpur, the trades they practiced and their traditions and beliefs, many of which endure even today.
Let our guide take you on a leisurely around the old Kuala Lumpur town, take in all the sights and sounds of our much loved city and our multiracial community, get to participate with the locals as they perform their spiritual devotion at the oldest Taoist temple, get to see the activities of the traders in Chinatown as they busily prepare to open for business in the morning, visit to an old wet market to see some of the local produce, get to sample some authentic local favorites.
Then, adjourn to the oldest Hindu temple to understand more about Hinduism practices. Lastly get to practice our culture as you eat our local lunch, fall in love with our city and its people and bring back these sweet memories with you!
At noon, we will drive to the Royal Museum (Old King Palace) and Putrajaya to understand the new development of Kuala Lumpur. Having a dinner at the side of the lake before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.
You will be brought to visit the iconic attractions of Malaysia such as the Petronas Twin Tower, Merdeka Square, National Mosque and Old Railway Station. You will enjoy your lunch at the local restaurant before proceed to the next destination.
Next, we will visit the Royal Selangor Pewter factory as the largest pewter factory in the world. You can watch how the process of pewter crafting from casting, polishing to assembling. Next stop will be the most visited tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves. Get to know the history of this 400 million years limestone hill while you mesmerize with the gigantic Lord Murugan statue, second tallest Hindu deity in the world.
We will adjourn to Kuala Selangor, the old town of Selangor state best known for its fireflies. Along the way, you will experience the village ambience with greenery view. Enjoy a seafood dinner at the local restaurant before continuing to the last highlight. Cruising on a sampan, a traditional wooden boat along the river banks and enjoy thousand of fireflies light up trees that resembles the Christmas trees. You will end the tour with this fascinating view and depart to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Find out where it all began; how Indonesia has been formed through the spice trading started from 17th century when Dutch established Batavia (Jakarta’s former name) as a trading port. Spices as “gold treasure” for European are mainly: pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and many more which also become legacy until today for Indonesian mainly through food.
We will be walking in the old town Batavia through Dutch colonial buildings and witness how the city exists until today. During your walking tour of Jakarta’s old town, you’ll learn about the art of shadow puppets at the Puppet Show of Wayang. You’ll eat and even cook some of the typical foods of Jakarta, such as the savory Betawinese cuisine.
Proceed with Jakarta City Tour where you will visit the iconic places in Jakarta city such as Lapangan Banteng, National Monument and Bundaran HI. Return to hotel.
In Glodok, you will experience the local activities in the morning by visiting the Chinese quarters and sample local specialties food. Chinese Quarter Glodok not only occupy by Chinese people but also many people from around Java Island since urbanization happen from time to time even before Indonesia formed. Therefore, now we could find various of street food that not only Chinese food but other food influence by many cultures. At noon, we continue the journey to Bogor.
On the way to Bogor we will visit Indonesia Miniature Park where you can see Indonesia at a glance to have knowledge about the country and its culture. From there, we will continue the journey to Bogor another old town in West java southern of Jakarta. One of the must-visit attractions in Bogor is Bogor Botanical Garden or known as ‘Kebun Raya Bogor’ among the locals. Located in the heart of the city, this massive garden was the expansion of the Presidential Palace official established by the Dutch in 1817. Around the city, you may witness the trace of colonial buildings left.
Geographically, Bogor city also is the home of Sundanese ethnic group. Although the land has been colonized by the Dutch for 350 years, they still rich with cultural tradition. In this tour, you will have the opportunity to experience the traditional Indonesia custom houses and savor some authentic Sundanese food. Dinner is provided on this tour.
